Grasshoppers Are Eaten and Enjoyed In Parts of Africa

African Cuisine
‘Menguenne’ as it is called by many Cameroonians or ‘Nsenene’ as Ugandans call it, is a seasonal specialty dish of grasshoppers fried and enjoyed in Africa.
These grasshoppers are plucked and washed, then fried in their own fat, without cooking oil, and flavored with onions and salt.
